Con Brio ..."with spirit"

Those two short words describe the commitment and zeal of the music-loving citizens who founded the original Ames Concert Association in 1949.  Subsequently, the organization was renamed Ames Town & Gown to convey the musical connection between the university and the larger community.

Six decades later, our enthusiasm for bringing great music and performers to central Iowa is as great as ever. Our audience comes to a concert with excited anticipation and is moved by the intimate and intricate “conversations” that take place among just a few instruments or voices. After hearing a great performance, sharing the profound experience with those around us, and later greeting the artists, we leave the hall enriched and energized to the core.
